New Delhi: A day after Lt. Governor Jung rejected AAP government’s appointment of Maliwal as DCW Chief, Delhi government on Thursday sought Jung’s approval for the appointment of Swati Maliwal.
Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said “We have sent her file to the Lt. Governor for his signature. We are not making it an issue”.
On Thursday, her nameplate was removed and her staff barred from entering the office of Delhi Commission for Women (DCW).
Jung’s office said the appointment of Maliwal was “in breach of rules and procedures” and “had no legal sanctity”.
Swati Maliwal is a social activist and the wife of an AAP leader.
