Ashura marked in Aligarh Muslim University, INDIA as WORLD ANTI TERRORISM DAY

The Ashura processions in Aligarh Muslim University India were marked as ‘World Anti Terrorism Day’. The mourners condemned the terrorist activities all over the world by carrying posters and banners with a tagline, “Moharram_a movement against terrorism, since 1400 years”. The participants of the procession also carried quotations of the national leaders like Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru about Imam Husain (a.s).

20151025105322“The sacrifice of Imam Husain (a.s) is a beacon of guidance for us to fight tyranny and oppression all over the world and his sacrifice is for all the humanity to take inspiration from and fight terror of all kind,” said one of the volunteer of the procession. The photos of Ayatullah Sistani and The Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei were also seen in the procession.

The people participated in the commemoration of Ashura with great zeal and without any distinction of culture or religion. “We are here to build this country together, to make peace and love together,” said Abbas Khan, who took part in the march. The Ashura procession is one great example of communal harmony in the country where Non Muslims made arrangements of Juice and water throughout the route of the procession. Maulana Manzar Sadiq led the Zuhr prayers which were offered in the famous exhibition ground where proper arrangements were made by the administration.

20151025105331The lovers of the Grandson of the Holy Prophet (pbuh) also prayed for the peace and harmony in the country.
The volunteers in the procession distributed flyers portraying the teachings of Islam to the spectators. Some of the teachings of islam written in the flyer were:-
1. Always speak the truth and support the truth by your actions, words and thoughts.

2. Never hurt any living being by your actions, words or thoughts.
3. Acquire your wealth through legal means.
4. Stay away from haraam and illegal acts.
5. Mutual respect for all communities, cultures and religions.
