Birth anniversary of Hazrat Ali a.s Celebrated in the Aligarh Muslim University

The Aligarh Muslim university celebrates the birth anniversary of Hazrat Ali (a.s) as Ali Day which is celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm without any distinction of religion or region. The Ali Day is marked with a book exhibition in the Maulana Azad Library in the day time in which some rare manuscripts including the holy quran written by Hazrat Ali a.s 1400 years ago is diplayed. The book exhibition is followed by the Ali day function at the kennedy Auditorium but this year due to the renovation work in the kennedy auditorium the function was held at the Athletics ground of the university.

Hon’ble Mr Haji Asghar Ali Karbalai, MLA, Kargil, Jammu and Kashmir was the chief guest of the function presided by the vice chancellor of the Aligarh Muslim University, Lt. Gen. Zamiruddin Shah. Maulana Kalbe Jawad was the guest of honour whereas Maulana Mohammed Mehdi Khan, Acharya Sri Pramod Krishnam ji and Maulana Yusuf Raza Qadri were the guest speakers and last but not the least the poets were Prof. Siraj Ajmali, Er. Meraj Husain and Nausha Amrohvi.

Prof Parvez Qamar Rizvi delivered the welcome address and Maulana Ali Mohammad, Patron Ali Society delivered the vote of thanks.
