Shafaqna India: There was a ruckus at a polling booth in northeast Delhi’s Seelampur as a woman voter alleged a fake vote being cast in her name leading to heated arguments.
BJP leaders alleged that AAP is indulging in bogus voting by bringing in ‘burqa-clad’ women to cast votes on behalf of others.
However, police said the allegation was not substantiated in their preliminary inquiry.
“The situation is completely under control. The crowd has been dispersed. The leaders of various political parties have left the spot. The voting is going on peacefully,” a Delhi Police officer said.
Meanwhile, Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva alleged that AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal and his party, frustrated by their sure defeat, had resorted to the use of fake voters.
“As per my information, Delhi Police have caught some fake voters. I appeal to the people to be wary of the AAP’s tactics,” Sachdeva said.
