Civilian killed in cross border firing in Kashmir’s Rajouri

A civilian was killed due to the firing of Pakistani Army on the Line of Control (LoC) in the Pir Panjal valley’s Rajouri district on Wednesday afternoon.

The incident took place at 12 p.m. “The Pakistan Army initiated an unprovoked firing in Nowshera Sector and resulted in death of a civilian,” said Army spokesman Lt. Col. Devender Anand.

The civilian was identified as Bodhraj, 55, a resident of Deeing in Nowshera. “The Indian Army immediately evacuated the injured for medical aid. However, the individual succumbed to his injuries,” said the Army.

He said Indian Army replied to the Pakistan’s “belligerence in a befitting manner”. “The Army authorities have promised all possible assistance and help to the family of the deceased,” said the Army.
