Shafaqna India: Teymour Azarpey, an Iranian collector from London, has officially donated a significant collection of antique coins to the treasury of the holy shrine of Imam Redha (AS) in Mashhad.
The donation ceremony followed Azarpey’s participation in the grand funeral procession for the Martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Hosseini Khamenei.
Mr. Azarpey’s decision to entrust his valuable collection to Astan Quds Razavi is motivated by his deep personal reverence for Imam Redha (AS).
Speaking about the donation, he expressed: “The collection has meticulously been assembled over years and it is in fact a tribute from a devoted admirer that wants his collection to be preserved within the sacred complex for public viewing and historical appreciation”.
The collector was also present in Mashhad during massive and emotional funeral ceremonies for the late leader and his companions. He described the massive turnout as a testament to the deep bond between the nation and its leadership, stating that he felt compelled to be present during these solemn moments to pay his final respects alongside millions of fellow Iranians.
Speaking to reporters after the donation ceremony, Azarpey emphasized that his dedication to the country remains unwavering, even when he resides abroad, stating, “I am prepared to utilize all his resources and efforts to help alleviate challenges Iranian people face and he is committed to the well-being of Iran and its people.
He stressed that his love for Iran transcends physical borders, saying “He continuously seeks opportunities to contribute to the nation’s progress and stability, seeing people’s resilience as a source of ongoing inspiration”.
The newly acquired collection will soon undergo cataloging and preservation processes before being displayed to pilgrims and visitors of the holy shrine.
