Culprits need exemplary punishment: Indian Medical Association

Hyderabad: A 26-year-old woman, who was raped and murdered on the outskirts of Hyderabad on Wednesday, expressing anger on this incident Indain Medical Association demanded ‘exemplary punishment’ for the guilty.

After knowing about the shocking case emerged, Indian Medical Association President Dr Santanu Sen and members of the association expressed their anger and demanded the Telangana government to take urgent action against the accussed gang. 

National President of IMA and Member of Parliament from Rajya Sabha, Dr Santanu Sen who have arrived Hyderabad to attend a two day annual national conference of medical specialties, IMA AMSCON 2019 Hyderabad held at hotel Royalton in Chirag Ali Lane from 30th November to 01 December. 

Dr Santanu Sen asked the IMA Telangana branch to submit a request letter from Indian Medical Association to the Chief Minister of Telangana State, K Chandrasekhar Rao to take stringent punishment against the accused persons involved in gang rape and murder of 26-year-old Veterinarian Priyanka Reddy.

Dr Santanu holding a press meet on Saturday night immediately after his arrival to Hyderabad said, “Just so heartbreaking to read about Priyanka Reddy’s rape and murder. Committing such crimes with impunity, wish wheels of justice moved faster. The accused gang need exemplary punishment”. 

Dr. JA Jayalal, Dr. Pramesh C. Joshi, Dr. Vijay Kumar, Dr. Manjua Mehta, Dr Mohan Gupta, National Secretary of IMA were present during the occasion.
