New Delhi: A week after Mohammad Akhlaq was killed by a mob in Dadri over rumours of eating beef, IAF has shifted his family to an Air Force station in Delhi.

According to a report in Hindustan Times, the family was moved to Subroto Park in Delhi on Monday night.

IAF Chief Marshal Arup Raha on October 3 had said that they were looking at the possibility of moving the family to an IAF area soon.

Akhlaq’s elder son, Mohammad Sartaj is a corporal-rank technician in the IAF.

Meanwhile, the district administration has registered cases against five people, including Union minister Mahesh Sharma, BJP legislator Sangeet Som, BSP leader Naseemuddin Siddiqui, Omji Maharaj of the Hindu Raksha Dal and Parvez for violation of prohibitory orders.

Mohammad Akhlaq, a 50-year-old man, was killed and his son grievously injured in their house in Uttar Pradesh by a mob over rumours that the deceased had consumed beef.
