Gruesome Video Shared As Muslims Attacking Hindus during Holi in UP; Police Debunk False Claim

by Abbas Adil

Ramdharam Das, Vice President of International Studies for Krishna Consciousness (ISCKON), Kolkata, has shared on his Twitter handle a gruesome video with false claim that in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr, Muslims attacked Hindus during Holi. But the Bulandshahr Police revealed that the video was of Tinku and Rohit who mistakenly broke out the acid bottle on his head.

Das, whose Twitter timeline is flooded with anti-Muslim message, deleted his tweet after the police put out the facts.

Sharing a disturbing video which shows two persons were suffering from acid burn, Das made a hateful claim which could trigger violence against the Muslims.

He claimed “In UP’s Bulandshahr, Jihadis threw acid on Hindus celebrating Holi. These Jihadis also molest Hindu girls during Holi, Garbha festivals & then leftist further their propaganda by demeaning the Holi festival as unsafe for girls etc. They work in tandem”.

However, the Bulandshahr Police debunked the false claim made by Das with regard to the video clip. The police said that the two people in the video are Tinku, son of Brijpal, and Rohit, son of Jagdish. They are the residents of Thakroli in Bulandshahr. No one threw acid on them but Tinku, while dancing during Holi celebration, said that he would break out a wine bottle on his head. But, mistakenly, he broke out a bottle of acid. This injured them and both of them are out of danger.
