Haryana Files Case Against Kejriwal Over Yamuna Pollution Remark

Shafaqna India: The Haryana government has filed a case against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in a Sonipat court under the Disaster Management Act over his recent remark alleging that Haryana was poisoning the Yamuna River.

Haryana’s Revenue and Disaster Management Minister, Vipul Goel, stated on Wednesday that the state government had taken serious note of Kejriwal’s comments regarding Delhi’s water supply. Speaking to the media, Goel dismissed the remarks as misleading and irresponsible, urging the Election Commission to take strict action against such statements.

“Kejriwal has resorted to cheap politics by making baseless allegations against Haryana, prompting the state government to take legal action,” Goel said. He emphasized that the water being supplied to Delhi is the same that is consumed by the President, Prime Minister, and Union ministers, refuting any claims of contamination.

Goel further accused Kejriwal of spreading unnecessary fear among residents of both Delhi and Haryana. He also criticized the Delhi government for failing to clean the Yamuna, shifting the blame instead of addressing the real issues affecting the river’s pollution.
