New Delhi: The Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi would visit Israel at a mutually convenient time, external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj said on Sunday.
Swaraj said that she would visit Israel, Palestine and Jordan this year however she maintained that there had been no change in India’s Palestine policy.
She said “As far as my visit is concerned, it will take place this year. I will visit, Israel, Palestine and Jordan. As far as Prime Minister’s visit is concerned, he will travel to Israel. No dates have been finalised. It will take place as per mutually convenient dates”.
She also dismissed criticism of Modi’s visits abroad, saying he had certain responsibilities as PM, adding that there was hardly any difference in the number of visits Modi made and the ones that his predecessors made.
Modi will be the first Indian Prime Minister to visit Israel.
