Shafaqna India: A peace agreement was signed on Wednesday between the Central Government, the Tripura Government, and two insurgent groups from the state in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, aiming to end violence and restore peace in Tripura.
The signing of the Memorandum of Settlement with the National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) and the All Tripura Tiger Force (ATTF) was attended by Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha, along with senior officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and the state government.
Speaking at the event, Home Minister Shah emphasized that the Modi government prioritizes peace and development in the Northeastern region. He noted that all peace agreements signed in the Northeast have been implemented by the government.
Shah highlighted the implementation of a ₹2,500 crore development package announced by the Central Government for the Northeast.
The Home Minister further stated that, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, 12 significant agreements have been signed to promote peace and prosperity in the Northeast, including three specific to Tripura. He mentioned that around 10,000 people have surrendered arms and integrated into the mainstream as a result of these agreements.
