t’s that time of the year again when the top cricket stars from all around the world gather in one place for the Indian Premier League. But it’s not all work and no play for the cricketers as they also get to have some fun off the field thanks to the franchise’s sponsor commitments.
Apart from playing non-stop during the nearly 2-month long tournament, players also have to take time out for things like advertisement and photo shoots, media interactions, meet with fans, etc.
And fans keep getting glimpses of the players’ lives during IPL through social media as they keep posting all the fun and shenanigans they do on set, especially during these shoots.
Delhi Capitals opener Shikhar Dhawan posted a video of him doing the bhangra with teammates Ajinkya Rahane and Ravichandran Ashwin.
The Delhi batsman had to teach it to his teammates from Mumbai (Rahane) and Chennai (Ashwin) who followed Dhawan obediently and actually danced quite well.
Rahane and Ashwin are the two new faces in Delhi Capitals this season. Rahane came to DC from Rajasthan Royals while Ashwin shifted base from Kings XI Punjab to Delhi.
“Teaching my two teammates a few Punjabi steps but it’s going to take a while to get them into rhythm. Lovely to see them dancing since they are usually shy. Always have fun and keep the kid inside of you alive,” Dhawan captioned the video.
Kings XI Punjab also posted a funny video of superstar Chris Gayle from what seemed like a shoot.
In the video, Gayle can be seen asking one of his teammates to step aside as he got ready for a table tennis match while being cheered on.
IPL 2020 will be held from September 19 to November 10 in the United Arab Emirates. Delhi Capitals and Kings XI Punjab will kick-start their campaigns with each other at the Dubai International stadium on September 20.
