Shafaqna India: “External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar to Meet U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Tuesday to Discuss Key Global Issues”
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar is set to meet his U.S. counterpart Antony Blinken on Tuesday, with discussions expected to cover a range of bilateral and global topics, including the Ukraine war and the Middle East crisis.
Having arrived in Washington, D.C. on Sunday, Jaishankar will also engage with other senior Biden administration officials. In addition to his meeting with Blinken, he is scheduled to interact with the think-tank community.
The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace will host a conversation featuring Jaishankar and its president, Mariano-Florentino Cuellar, focusing on the future of U.S.-India relations. The think tank highlighted India’s growing strategic importance in global affairs and U.S. foreign policy, referencing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 2023 State Visit and his recent meeting with President Joe Biden.
On September 21, Biden hosted Modi at his Delaware residence for a bilateral meeting, which was later joined by leaders from Australia and Japan for the QUAD Leaders’ Summit in Wilmington.
The think tank noted that amid rapidly evolving global developments, U.S.-India bilateral ties have become increasingly extensive, with strengthened partnerships in the Indo-Pacific, defense innovation, and critical emerging technologies.
