J&K CM Mufti Seyeed Meets Ayatollah Nouri, Iranian Ambassador

Srinagar: Advisor to the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Akbar Nategh Nouri, met J&K Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed today and discussed several issues of mutual interest.

Ayato1llah Nouri was accompanied by Iran’s Ambassador to India, Gholemreza Ansari. Minister for IT, Youth Services & Sports and Technical Education, Imran Raza Ansari, was also present on the occasion.

Mufti Sayeed during the meeting discussed with the Iranian leader several issues especially those related to culture, heritage, cuisine and handicraft.

An official statement said “The Chief Minister said the Iranian influence on Kashmir’s art and culture has been very strong. He also praised the greatest spiritual leader of Iran, Ayatollah Khomeni, describing him as an epitome of humanity”.

Ayatollah Nategh Nouri praised beauty of Kashmir and said that for the people of Iran the special love for Kashmir will continue in future.

Meanwhile Huriyat Conference (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq today urged Iran to use its good offices for the resolution of Kashmir issue at an earliest.

Huriyat (M) chairman at a function organized on 26th anniversary of Imam Khomeni said that Iran is a country which has good and cordial relations with both India and Pakistan; therefore the country should make efforts for the peaceful resolution of Kashmir through dialogue.
