J&K CM Mufti Seyeed To Discuss AFSPA Revocation With Defence Minister Manohar Parikar

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Seyeed will likely discuss AFSPA with Defence Minister Manohar Parikar on Friday.

The meeting of Mufti Seyeed with the union defense minister is scheduled at 6.30 in the evening.
Parrikar will arrive on a two-day visit to the state to review the security situation.

If reports are to be believed Mufti would raise the revocation of AFSPA from some areas of J&K wherein militancy related incidents are on decline.

Parikar will be accompanied by Army Chief General Dalbir Singh Suhag and General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Northern Command Lt Gen D S Hooda during the visit which will cover all three regions of the state.

Parikar will arrive in Leh from New Delhi where Lt Gen V S Negi, General officer Commanding of 14 Corps, will brief him about the situation along the Line of Control (LoC) on Pakistani side and Line of Actual Control along the Chinese side.
