Islamabad: In a controversial statement Maulana Fazlur Rehman, chief of Pakistan’s political outfit, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islami Fazl (JUI-F) asked the Pakistani armed forces to launch an operation against women wearing jeans across Pakistan.
Maulana says women wearing jeans are behind earthquakes, inflation and other kinds of disasters.
He went on to say that a woman who is not covered like a ‘sack of flour’ is a weapon of mass destruction.
Rehman then blamed ‘immodest women’ for the Baluchistan crisis, lack of energy supply and the deteriorating security situation in Pakistan.
He also said that if women are wrapped in sacks and kept at home, then Taliban would not be attacking Pakistan.
Rehman urged Pakistan’s Army chief to declare ‘war’ against Pakistani women wearing jeans.
