Kashmiris urged to file pleas against screening of Indian-sponsored Islamophobic movie in UK

Amid growing fear triggered by screening of the so-called Kashmir Files movie, Kashmiris in the United Kingdom were urged to file petitions against the propaganda film to avert any mishap in view of the anti-Muslim hate propagated by the Indian movie.

Tehreek-e-Kashmir (TeK) UK chapter President Raja Fahim Kayani warned that “after-effects of the movie are alarming and can hurt Kashmiris living in the UK”.

“This Islamophobic movie has potential to trigger violence against Kashmiri students, professionals, businessmen and others in the UK,” Kayani said in a statement on Friday.

“Everyone is urged to write letters and petitions to their MPs, university officials, cinema managements and police to warn against the screening of this propaganda movie,” the TeK leader added.

The Kashmir Files is a disruptive and violent movie that has been produced to demonise the Muslim population of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), Kiyani also said.

“We are not against Kashmiri Hindus but this movie has the potential to perpetrate violence against the Muslim population of IIOJK, thus, everyone in the UK is urged to take precautionary measures and influence people not to screen this movie. It is merely one more act to perpetuate Islamophobia and harm Muslims,” Kayani said.

Earlier this month, Pakistan Peoples Party Azad Jammu and Kashmir President Chaudhry Muhammad Yaseen termed the Indian-sponsored Kashmir Files movie the biggest lie of the century.

In a statement, he said that the Indian government wanted to hoodwink the world on Kashmiris’ indigenous freedom struggle that has entered a decisive phase.

“Kashmiri Pundits were forced to migrate by the then governor of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir Jagmohan Malhotra with the intention to do ethnic cleansing of Kashmiri Muslims in the 1990s,” Yaseen said.

“To defame and give the communal and sectarian colour to the ongoing indigenous freedom struggle movement of IIOJK Indian establishment produced Kashmir Files movie which was already rejected by Congress Party in India and termed it another political card of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the coming elections,” he said.
