Mamata Signals Willingness to Resign Amid Ongoing Standoff with Doctors

Shafaqna India: On Thursday, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee indicated her readiness to resign amid the ongoing standoff with doctors.

The doctors continued to insist on live-streaming their meeting with the Chief Minister. In response, Mamata stated, “We waited for two hours for a meeting with the junior doctors, but they did not come to the venue.”

Mamata explained that, due to the RG Kar case being sub-judice, the meeting with the junior doctors could not be live-streamed as they had requested.

“We had arranged to video-record the meeting with the junior doctors and could have shared it with them with the Supreme Court’s permission,” she said.

Mamata also mentioned that she had made three attempts to negotiate with the junior doctors to resolve the RG Kar issue, noting that 27 people had died and 700,000 patients were suffering due to the doctors’ strike.
