Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao met his West Bengal counterpart Mamata Banerjee in Kolkata on Monday and said his mission was the “formation of a non-Congress non-BJP front”.
“It is an unification of forces across the nation. I have started a dialogue from yesterday, when I met Chief Minister of Odisha [Naveen Patanaik]. Today I met Didi [Ms Banerjee],” Mr. Rao told journalists at the State Secretariat after the meeting.
Mr Rao said that very soon he would come out with a concrete plan. Setting up such a front, “is not a small thing on which decisions can be taken across the table.” He asserted that he would continue to do his work and soon come out with a “good news”.
On his meeting Ms. Banerjee, he said, “when two political leaders meet, they speak about mutual interest and also matters of national politics”. She had called him up to congratulate him on his victory in the recent Assembly polls and he came here to seek the blessing of Goddess Kali and Didi.
