by Abbas Adil

Peoples Conference senior vice president said that the NC’s wrong decisions at critical times has led to death and destruction in Kashmir and the present uncertainty is the outcome of sell-outs by the National Conference leadership to safeguard their family interests.

Addressing worker’s meetings in Jambazpora, Chakloo and Batpora, Vakil said that the mass rigging in the 1987 elections in Kashmir was the pivotal moment where the State was pushed into the throes of uncertainty, violence and turmoil.

“The blatant rigging started an un-ending and vicious cycle of violence which has till date consumed 1 Lakh lives and there is no closure. Their rank opportunism and thirst for power has wreaked havoc with the State and robbed generations of peace and opportunities for progress’, he added

Vakil further added that NC leadership at the time of elections always promise heavens to gullible people of Kashmir but once they are trusted back to power, they not only backtrack from their election promises but bring disaster and catastrophe for the people of Kashmir.

“NC has always promised autonomy but never tried to restore it. Instead, history has proved how the dynastic party collaborates for Delhi in eroding the left out autonomy enjoyed by the state”, he added.

Vakil said people of Valley are suffering due to blunders made by the NC leadership at critical times in history.

“People of the state are the victims of their blunders. Time has come to teach such people a lesson that have lust for the power, so that they no more exploit the gullible people for their vested interests”.

Accusing NC of eroding article 370, Vakil further said, “During decades of NC rule, through 47 amendments in Central laws were made applicable to J&K and now the same party is shedding crocodile tears to befool the people of Kashmir”.
