Pixel 3 Lite ‘leaked’ images out

Google could launch a third Pixel 3 code-named ‘Sargo”, which is believed to be a mid-end smartphone. While details are still limited, photos of the front and back of the smartphone have been leaked online. Russian tech blogger Rozetked claims to have leaked the first images of the phone, which is being referred to as the “Pixel 3 Lite”.

Design-wise, the Pixel 3 Lite appears to have the same design language as the Pixel 3, but sports a 5.56-inch display that is not edge-to-edge and has a resolution of 2220 x 1080. Also, it appears to have a headphone jack, unlike the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL.

The Pixel 3 Lite is clearly intended to be a mid-ranger. Under the hood, the phone is powered by a Snapdragon 670 processor coupled with 4GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage. On the rear, the phone has a 12MP single camera, while the front features an 8MP camera for selfies. The single back camera appears to be of the same quality, like the one seen on the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. This could be a big deal, given the Pixel 3 has been acknowledged as the best camera smartphone in the market today. The report further claims the Pixel 3 Lite will be backed by a 2,915mAh battery.

This isn’t the first time we are hearing that Google is working on a budget version of the Pixel 3 smartphone. Earlier this year a report from The Economic Times had claimed that Google was working on a mid-end Pixel smartphone aimed at the Indian market. It makes sense to launch the smartphone in India – after all, the premium mid-end smartphone segment in this market has shown growth.

It’s too early to speculate about the so-called “Pixel 3 Lite” but if the report from Rozetked is correct, then the upcoming phone could end up costing somewhere between $400 (Rs 29,714) and $500 (Rs 35,892). The leaked pricing appears to be aggressive, although Google has yet to reveal its plans to launch a third Pixel smartphone. Hopefully, we will learn more about the Pixel 3 Lite in the coming days.
