New Delhi: In his eighth edition of radio address ‘Mann Ki Baat’ Prime Minister Narendra Modi today assured the country’s former servicemen on the one rank-one pension (OROP) issue and asserted that his government would find a solution to it.
OROP relates to payment of uniform pension to defence forces personnel retiring in the same rank with the same length of service, irrespective of their date of retirement.
Modi said “This government, and I repeat, this government will give a solution to OROP (issue)”.
“I am not talking as a prime minister. For 40 years, this (OROP) question has been persisting. Nothing has happened so far,” he added.
Modi on Saturday also said that his government was “committed” to the long-awaited OROP for ex-servicemen.
