SOG Jammu recovered huge quantity of Banned Drugs

Continuing its Crusade against Drugs, SOG Jammu achieved a major success by recovering huge quantity of Bottles of Codeine phosphate (Banned drug) at Samba SIDCO chowk in the jurisdiction of Police Station Samba of District Samba this afternoon.
Reports revealed that a team of SOG Jammu led by SI Arjun Mangotra laid a special naka at Samba SIDCO chowk with the sleuths of Police Station Samba under its SHO Insp Shiv Dev Singh. A LP truck bearing registration No. JK05 E3912 was intercepted which was coming from Punjab and cops during search of the vehicle recovered huge quantity of banned drug from the vehicle which was otherwise carrying Kitchenware items. The cops detained three narcotic smugglers who were smuggling the above contraband in the truck.They have been identified as Driver of the truck Zubair Ahmad Bhat S/O Abdul Hamid Bhat R/O Village – Namblan District – Baramulla , Owner of the truck Hashim Rasool S/O Ghulam Rasool Gojree R/O Village Syed Karim, Gulshanabad Colony, District – Baramulla and Aqib Ahmed S/O Ghulam Mohd R/O Syed Karim, District – BaramullaA case under relevant sections of NDPS Act has been registered at PS Samba The whole exercise was closely monitored by SSP SOG Jammu Sh. Sandeep Mehta- JKPS and was carried out under the supervision of SSP Samba Dr.Koushal Kumar -IPS.Mr. Mehta has urged the civil society to strengthen the hands of Police to weed out this menace by providing the timely and actionable inputs about the movement and activities of these drug smugglers/peddlers in their respective areas to Police.
