Thousands of supporters with flags of newly-formed Jansatta party arrived in the state capital as six-time independent MLA Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiya launched his political outfit ahead of 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

Carrying forward his anti-Dalit agenda, Raja Bhaiya said that compensation based on caste should be ended. “Often kin of people deceased in a murder attack and rape survivors are given additional compensation considering that they are members of backward class. However, it should be stopped and we will raise our voice against it,” he said.
A swarm of supporters gathered at Lucknow’s sprawling Ramabai ground, which turned yellow to welcome the arrival of Singh’s party into the Uttar Pradesh’s politics. A special train, along with several buses and cars, had been booked to ferry the volunteers to the city.

A notice board had also been put up at Garhi Manikpur Railway Station in Pratapgarh district to inform supporters about the schedule of train. The notice stated that travelling has been arranged free of cost to witness the launch of the new party.

Singh’s supporters arrived the venue wearing unique t-shirts and caps that with their bhaiya’s (brother’s) face printed on it.

Raghuraj, who completes 25 years in the electoral politics, is expected to take forward his political ambitions riding on the anti-Dalit agenda which he openly espoused at a press conference early this month. The UP leader had remained confined to his constituency in Pratapgarh district all these years but will now join the league of leaders like Anupriya Patel, Shivpal Yadav and Om Prakash Rajbhar who all have their own outfits.
