Kashmir: Rajnath Singh, Union Home Minister arrived Kashmir on Wednesday on a two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir.
Singh reviewed the overall security situation in the state including the security arrangements made for this year’s Amarnath Yatra beginning on Thursday.
Senior officials of the state government, central paramilitary forces and those of the state and central intelligence agencies attended the meeting.
Singh stressed on better coordination among various agencies to ensure foolproof security for the Yatra.
Singh also discussed healthcare, food facilities and communication arrangements during the meeting.
He will pay obeisance at the Amarnath Cave shrine with the first batch of pilgrims today.
