WhatsApp, the Meta-owned app, is working on a new feature which will restrict users from taking screenshots of profile pictures on iOS.
A message will appear on the screen notifying users that taking screenshots of profile photos has been blocked, as can be seen in the picture shared by WABetaInfo.
This is being initiated to protect everyone’s privacy on the app.
By blocking users from capturing and sharing profile photos without the owner’s consent, this option will offer an extra layer of privacy protection, as per the report.
Though, people may still take the image with other devices or cameras but blocking the screenshot feature within the app will definitely lessen the unauthorised sharing of profile photos.
Without permission by stopping users from taking screenshots, this Meta app’s feature will be helpful in reducing the risk of profile photos which can be misused or distributed.
Moreover, WhatsApp is also testing a new feature that will offer users a “filter”, which will quickly get a list of their favourites from the chats tab on Android.
