Overnight rain puts Mumbai on standstill, waterlogging disrupts trains, flights

Shafaqna India: Local train services on the Central Railway routes were severely disrupted early Monday morning, while various roads in Mumbai were waterlogged after some areas recorded over 300 mm of rainfall overnight, officials said.

Heavy rain lashed Mumbai and its suburbs from 1 am to 7 am, causing widespread waterlogging on key roads and in low-lying areas, leading to major traffic snarls across the city and crippling daily life.

Several train services were cancelled, and the Mumbai airport diverted 27 flights to other airports.
